There was drama in Kilo village on Friday evening after locals found a man tied and dumped into a dumpsite.
Neighbors were attracted by screams from the helpless man.
According to those who witnessed the drama, they arrived to respond to cries by the middle-aged man.
The man claimed that he had been attacked by a ruthless gang that robbed him five thousand and left him tied and thrown into the stinking dumpsite.
However, the story took a swift twist after a group of people arrived at the scene and rubbished the poor man's version of the story.
"Huyu jamaa awache upuzi, amekula pesa zetu na hataki kulipa ametafuta watu wamufunge," one group member said.
Apparently, the man had borrowed man from a merry-go-round chama but was unable to repay.
The cahama was planning to repossess the man when he decided to stage manage his own kidnap.
