It is widely evident that the number of slums in most urban centres is on the rise in most of the African countries.
Despite the government coming up with cheaper houses in places like Kibera, there is much to be done to improve this state. The county government of the cities in hand with the national government should forge same strategies to curb this problem.
CHEAPER HOUSES
The issue of coming up with cheaper houses in these areas should be encouraged by government subsidies and tax holidays to the investors who are willing to raise this structures. This will meet the need of the overcrowded cities which will no longer depend on the government built houses.
LAWS BE IMPLEMENTED
This is in relation to structures development. One should be vetted if he is capable of coming up with good and hygienic houses in these areas for discouragement of building unwanted houses.
ECONOMIC UPGRADE
The government should try and avoid tax imbalance to the low and high income earners, this is by making available all the basic need to its citizen by lowering the tax issue i.e. Vat and other overburdening taxes, it should resolve by creating more employment to earn more income rather than dwell on siphoning the little that is collected through corrupting, if the rate of corrupting rises it leads to shortage in the country funding thereby overburdening its citizen.
