The Nakuru County advisor to the Governor, Mr Njuguna Kimani says he has delivered on his mandate regarding the position.

Five months after his appointment, the aide, who is best known as Kimani wa Kimani, has come under fire from fellow youth who have accused him of betraying their interests after getting the job.

“Kimani wa Kimani used to be very vocal in criticising the administration and fighting for the rights of the youth. But his zeal suddenly went out and he has now become a government spokesperson,” lamented John Mwangi, youth leader from Rongai sub-county.

But reacting to the claims, Kimani revealed that since his appointment, he has ensured the process of coming up with a county youth policy has been initiated, and pressing for the youth to get 30 per cent of government tenders.

“I make sure that youth companies get 30 per cent of the county tenders and they actually have been awarded over 75 per cent in the Health sector,” said Kimani.

The advisor also revealed that under his watch, the county has provided more employment opportunities to the youth and rabbit keeping which is a youth friendly business venture has been prioritised.

He is also currently involved in the shooting of the first ever Nakuru based soap opera in a bid to empower talented youth.

“I can confidently say that I have delivered on my mandate despite the challenges I have faced,” he added.

He also dismissed claims that he doesn’t have a job description.

“My job description is very clear. I advise the governor on the youth as per the constitution, share the governor’s messages to the youth on social media and pass to him any youth issues that they raise,” revealed Kimani.
