Kiambu Deputy Governor Gerald Githinji has encouraged women, youth and person with disabilities to attend training and mentorship forums being organised by the county government and stakeholders.

The deputy governor said the county government has been conducting training for women and youth on entrepreneurship.

He stated that such training forums are intended to equip participants with skills on how to manage business and take part in development.

Speaking after presenting water tanks worth Sh300,000 to By Pass Women Self Help Group in Juja on Friday, Githinji said that the county government will continue to organise for training forums for marginalised groups in areas of business.

He said the county government has put in place proper measures aimed at empowering marginalised groups.

“The Kiambu government under the leadership of Governor William Kabogo is keen to empower marginalised groups and engaged them in development,” he said.

The Kiambu deputy governor urged marginalised groups to utilise the development opportunities given to them by both the national and the county governments.

“Marginalised groups should grab every opportunity and make good use of it for their own empowerment,” he said.

The deputy governor said that the county government will continue to initiate programmes aimed at promoting development.

He urged residents to support the county government as it seeks to fulfill its development plans.

The deputy governor was accompanied by Kiambu County Youth Affairs CeC Michael Waikenda, Youth Chief Officer Marie Mugo among other county officials.
