Community health volunteers have congratulated Kibera residents for turning up in large numbers to check their blood pressure.

Addressing residents who turned up to be checked on Thursday at DC, Emily Otieno Ochieng’ said it is better for them to know their pressure levels before things turn worse.

“I want to sincerely thank you for coming to check your blood pressure. You should know that your life is important not only to you but your families as well,” said the community health volunteer.

She also urged those who were diagnosed with high blood pressure to take exercises seriously and follow the prescriptions as advised by their doctors.

“The turnout has increased compared to the first day. This shows how people value their life,” added Emily.

Community health volunteers in conjunction with the African Medical Research Foundation are conducting a free blood pressure check for Kibera residents.
