The outspoken Women Representative for Mombasa County has won the hearts of many residents the Coastal City of Mombasa.

The ardent ODM supporter is expected to have a smooth ride in defending her seat in the 2017 polls, if the statements of Mombasa residents is anything to go by.

Her constant defence of the Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga from the Jubilee MP's onslaught is what has made her to win the hearts and the support of the people she represents.

The region which voted for the ODM supremo 2013 general elections is viewed to be his stronghold.

Therefore, according to the residents here, Mboko has really demonstrated what party loyalty means, more so in a region where many Politicians are struggling to popularise the parties.

To them, Mboko has lived according to the Party rules and that her constant defence of Raila Odinga has even given her a very big plus.

The first-time legislator is also praised for her consistency in parliamentary debates and her supporters argue that she is really a unifying factor at the county with multi-cultural and multi-racial associations.

Jairus Otieno, a resident of Mombasa Old Town says that he is really happy with how Mboko is running the affairs of Mombasa County. He says that the 'Mombasa Girl', as she is popularly known is remaining a very relevant political figure at the county.

“We really like her. She has really shown what party loyalty means,” he said.

Otieno's sentiments were echoed by Abdul Khalifa, a banana seller at the Old Town.

“This is the best leader we have elected so far. She knows what the residents expect of her,” he said.

Some residents are even saying that she should vie for the 'big' seat in 2017. They say that she is very fit for the Governorship seat and that they are willing to vote for her if she declares her interest in the seat.

'She can be a good Governor. We will vote for her if she declares her interest,' said Fatima Abdulrahman Nassir.

Is Mboko becoming the next face of Mombasa politics? Only time will tell.
