As the worlds evolve it brings with it some inevitable changes. It is said if you refuse to change, change will change you.

Many of the slum youths never knew the importance of education, few of them, however, knew but had no money to go to school.

Being challenged by their area MP, Ken Okoth who was born and raised in the slums, the youths have been given the chance to go to school.

Okoth has motivated them by paying their school fees, for those who do well in their education. This has seen many of the youths go back to school. The increased number of youths joining secondary school has gradually increased. This has become a challenge to the Kibera sub county government since the three public high schools in the area could no longer hold the 400,000 students in high schools.

Due to this, the area MP has started the construction of two more public schools in the slums. The new Shadrack Kimalel and Mbagathi Secondary schools will be the public schools in the area and will help students get quality education starting this year as form one admissions have already started.
