Naivasha MP John Kihagi wants the Lands Cabinet Secretary Jacob Kaimenyi and his Interior counterpart Joseph Nkaissery to resolve the Maella land dispute.
Speaking exclusively to this writer Thursday, Kihagi said residents of Maella have cited frustration in resolution of the dispute, which has disrupted learning and economic activity.
He said the two ministries should have moved in to solve the situation at its best, but have done nothing to resolve the stalemate between residents and Ngati society which is at the centre of the controversy.
“I have tried to call for meetings with the people over Ngati farm which is the bone of contention but nothing has happened yet schools have closed for the past weeks,” he said.
“These people have been frustrated and I am petitioning the Lands and Interior CSs to go there by Saturday when I plan to hold a meeting and address the situation,” said Kihagi.
He also wants the current holders of office of Ngati Society investigated of any fraudulent land dealings.
“Holders of office should leave immediately and be investigated. If they are found culpable of selling the land in dubious ways, they should be held responsible and face the law,” he said.
Kihagi said Ngati Society which has 581 members should be given what is rightfully theirs.
