The National Authority for the Campaign against Alcohol and Drug Abuse (Nacada) has vowed to crack the whip on alcohol traders who allegedly sold liquor to five teenagers who later died in Salgaa following a grisly road accident involving their vehicle.
Nacada boss John Mututho Monday said that the authority had launched investigations into the matter to ensure that all those who were involved in selling the ill fated liquor to the school going teens are brought to book.
He added that it was quite reckless of such alcohol traders to sell liquor to the youngsters and noted that they owed the deceased parents' and the society at large an explanation.
The five teenagers who allegedly were high school students and perished on the eve of New year after the saloon car they were travelling in lost control and hit on an oncoming passenger bus about 3km from Salgaa centre.
Police revealed that the driver of the ill fated saloon car was allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol and was also speeding.
Mututho was speaking in Naivasha.
