Kenyan rapper, Octopizzo has been defended by his fans in Kibera from the public. This comes after the musician declined an award from recently held music awards.
A section of the public thought Octopizzo commonly referred to as Namba nane, was rude and proud when he chose not to be categorised in the Bingwa Awards where he told the people to give the award to musician Wahu instead. Darlington Musonge said Otopizzo should be congratulated for not taking part in the awards.
''His decision must be respected. If he refused then know he has his own reasons. I love his music but I want you to understand that huweziforce ng’ombe kunywa maji,'' he said.
Emmy Wamwale said she has nothing against the ivo ivo ivo hit maker since it was his decision to make.
''He made up his mind not to participate in the awards. Let us respect his decision because we can only vote but not write songs for him,'' she said.
The Kibera born musician, however, said he did not want to take part in the awards because the category he had been nominated in was like an insult. He said he was placed under the category, 'Comeback Artiste of the Year' something he says did not suit him because he had been active in music throughout.
