Olympic village elder George Okumu has urged parents who are yet to take their children to school to do so saying they are missing out on studies.
Speaking Monday morning at Olympic shopping area, Okumo said some parents failed to plan for their children's new academic year and as such, some have failed to attend classes citing lack of uniforms and fees especially for those attending private schools.
He further urged residents to advise parents to ensure that children go to school in time to prevent them loitering as this may make them to start engaging in illegal activities.
“Make sure your child has received good education to help him/her in future. Don’t put the future of your children at risk because without education, life becomes very hard in these days we are living in,” said Okumu.
He added that education is key in life and has no age limit and therefore parents should educate their children for better future lives.
