Two men are currently being held at Milimani police station after they were allegedly found breaking into a shop on Sunday night.

Kilimani OCPD Peter Katam said the two suspects had already broken into one shop in the area when they were caught by neighbours who notified the police.

According to the OCPD, a neighbour who witnessed the break-in raised an alarm alerting people who rushed out and caught the suspects surrendering them to the Olympic chief's Camp.

Katam said that one of the suspects escaped and the police are searching for him.

"The suspects had already broken into a shop but quick intervention by the people deterred them. They were later handed over to the police," said Katam.

Katam expressed his gratitude to residents who captured the suspects without breaking the law. The alleged burglars are being held at Milimani police station as they wait to face charges.

The officer added that they will be arraigned in court once investigations are over, and called upon the residents to ensure that they immediately report such incidents to the police instead of taking  the law into their hands.
