Police from Bosioango police in Nyamira South sub county have launched investigations after unknown persons broke into Bosiango Mixed Day Secondary School classes and stole a number of school items including books and learning materials.
According to the school principal Charles Nyanga’u, most of the students lock their text books and their learning materials in the classes and that has been the norm until Monday night when unknown people broke almost all the lockers and stole whatever the students left there.
“We are in shock because such a thing has never been experienced in the past and we are wondering how they stole without the watchmen who were on duty hearing,” said Charles.
According to some of the students interviewed, they came to school on Tuesday morning only to find that their lockers had been broken into and all their books and learning materials stolen.
Irene Sigara, a student in the school said they suspect their fellow students for cooperating with other villagers to steal their books.
“Most of the books stolen were the ones which were distributed by the school management and they were still new because we were given the books less than a week ago,” she said.
Confirming the incident was the Bosiango police boss Kennedy Onyango who said that they have launched investigations over the same matter and they will arrest the persons involved.
