Ruiru OCPD Isaac Thuranira has cautioned youth against allowing themselves to be used as agents of violence.
Speaking to members of the public at Ruiru Town on Tuesday, Thuranira said that some youth were allowing themselves to be used to disrupt peace.
The Ruiru OCPD said that some selfish people are keen to use young people to disrupt peace. The OCPD however said that such people will be dealt with according to the law.
He said that law enforcers will not allow selfish people to disrupt peace in the sub-county.
“People who think that they can influence and use young people in the wrong way have us to deal with. We are not going to allow our youth to be turned into agents of violence,” he said.
Thuranira said that law enforcers are on high alert and will not allow acts that will cause tension and instability in the area.
The OCPD on the same note urged Ruiru residents to report law breakers to the police.
He said that law enforcers are well prepared to handle any instance of crime reported within the area.
Thuranira said that the law must be adhered to adding that security will be streamlined in the sub-county.
Meanwhile, the OCPD has maintained that no police officer was used to aid the demolition of trader’s stalls in Ruiru on Thursday last week.
He refuted the claims saying that investigations are ongoing and the culprits will soon be apprehended.
Thuranira asked those with evidence that police orchestrated the demolitions to present it to law agencies.
