Kisii county Senator Christopher Obure has warned people against following a fake account opened in his name.
In a facebook post on Sunday morning, the senator expressed concern over the account and asked people to stick to his original account by the name 'Chris obure senator Kisii county'.
The senator insisted that he had not directed anybody to open the account.
"This is to draw your attention to a facebook account opened in the name of Chris Mogere Obure," said Obure.
"This account was opened by an unknown person whose intentions may be to mislead people. I neither instructed him nor have any knowledge of his objectives," he added.
He went ahead to caution people against following the account whose intention remains unknown.
"I, therefore, caution members of the public not to take with seriousness anything posted on that page with the impersonator masquerading in my name,” stated Obure.
“In the event you wish to communicate with me my official page is Chris Obure Senator Kisii county," he added.
