Thirty doctors from the Netherlands have arrived at the Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital in Eldoret to facilitate in kidney related treatment.
They are expected to carry out kidney examination and transplants for various patients admitted in the hospital and also train the hospital’s medical staff.
John Kibosia the hospital’s Chief Executive Officer on Monday at the hospital said the hospital management had made all the necessary arrangements for the exercise with support from the Netherlands and would accord them the necessary co-operation.
“This week the hospital will carry out three transplants, we are ready for the exercise. Our doctors will coordinate with the doctor ‘s program, a partnership with KLM Health Services of the Netherlands,” he said.
He added that KLM Royal Dutch Airlines flew patricians from Vanderbilt University medical Center to improve the medical service for Kidney patients.
Kibosia urged all patients with kidney failure to avail themselves at the hospitals for them to be examined and receive advice on ways in which to keep their health in check.
