The Teachers' Service Commission (TSC) has urged teachers to keep abreast with changes in the education industry by consulting the commission.
Speaking to journalists in her office on Tuesday, TSC Uasin Gishu County Director, Beatrice Agala said that teachers must be conversant with changes in policies son the role of the commission and the mandate of its officials.
She advised teachers to be aware of constitutional changes that have effects on their profession.
“I urge teachers to at least visit once our website www.tsc.go.ke to know what TSC is doing and also know the programs they are undertaking," she said.
The TSC director further appealed to headteachers to ensure that quality education is offered to students. Agala also advised teachers addicted to alcohol to seek rehabilitation, cautioning those accused of sexual harassment of serious repercussions.
“I have received many complains with teachers involvement in relationships with their students in Uasin Gishu County and any teachers who will be found will be shown the door with an immediate effect and scrapped forever from the TSC since it is against our codes and ethics," she added.
She urged teachers to work hard and improve their children performance saying it is their moral obligation to improve prepare the children for future responsibilities.
