Thirty eight inmates from Kisii GK Prison graduated on Tuesday diplomas in theology.
Speaking during the conferring of diploma certificates to the graduands, International Faith Churches director Tobias Odipo said the inmates would use theology knowledge to preach the gospel to other Kenyans.
"We thought of coming up with the program of providing inmates with theology training so that they can change themselves and help in salvaging the world from evil practices. We want them to be ministers of the gospel," he said.
Julius Oyugi, a pastor in the prison urged other churches and well-wishers to donate Bibles to prisoners to help them in Bible Studies.
"We have a responsibility as the church to help in transforming the world through preaching to inmates. We also ask them and other well-wishers sponsor the inmates by donating Bibles to them," he appealed.
Emily Conord, a living testimony, challenged the freed inmates to bring change to the society by spreading the gospel.
