The County Government of Kisii has been urged to crack down on illicit brew to enhance development among the youths.

Julius Mong'are, who is an activist based in Kisii, said that the youths are going back to the old ways of idling all day and drinking in most parts of Kisii, including Nyamage.

“It is very discouraging that after efforts to eradicate illegal brew out of our county we still see the same vice picking up again,” said Mong'are.

He urged the national government to provide rehabilitation services and improve employment opportunities so that youths do not remain idle which encourages this negative vices.

“The county government should ensure job opportunities are created to accommodate the youth. This will give them a purpose in life and, therefore, reduce cases of drinking and crime in the region,” he said.
