A middle-aged man who allegedly assaulted his parents has been arrested by community policing officers together with police officers in Mawizeni village, Mumbuni location, Machakos county.
The incident has been confirmed by the area Chief Mathew Mulee.
"We have been searching for this man since Sunday morning and haven't slept the whole night until we caught him deep inside the coffee farm," said Mulee.
The coffee farm plantation belongs to the parents who he allegedly beat mercilessly after a domestic disagreement.
According to the chief, the parents were rushed to Machakos level five hospital for treatment after suffering deep cuts.
"I was informed by the residents after they heard screams from the home, their son had attacked them using a sharp axe," he added.
The suspect has been arrested and taken to Mumbuni police station as the police officers launch investigation into the case.
