Bahati MP Kimani Ngunjiri has called on his constituents to be helpful to others this festive season saying that it was the best time of making a positive impact on the lives of the less fortunate in their neighbourhoods.
Speaking on Sunday after attending mass at the PCEA Ruguru church, Ngunjiri noted that while some families were enjoying, others were languishing in abject poverty something he believes can be reverted if people prioritised peaceful co-existence.
He further called on the church to spearhead such initiatives arguing that over the years, the church has been a unifying factor in the society.
“It will be unfortunate to see your neighbour’s children staying hungry the whole day while you can afford surplus food. Even the holy Bible says; love your neighbour as you love yourself,” he said.
The Bahati legislature, through his constituency office, has launched a programme aimed at sharing with the old, less fortunate and poor in his area of jurisdiction running from December 22 to the new year’s eve.
He is the fourth leader in Nakuru to openly declare his Christmas sharing programme after assembly speaker Suzan Kihika, governor Kinuthia Mbugua and Molo MP Jacob Macharia.
