Mwembe bodaboda operators of Kisii County are calling upon the county government to build them a shed saying they have suffered for a long time.
Led by Joel Oloo, who is the chairperson of bodaboda operators in the area.
They have faulted the politicians who have fed them with empty promises of building them a shade which is yet to be fulfilled.
“We have always been promised by politicians year in year out that they will build us a shade to shield us from extreme weathers such as the rains and hot sun but to-date, no action has been taken," said Oloo.
"We now call upon the county government to come in for we can’t go on this way especially during this month when we are expecting the rains, which will inconvenience our operations,” added Oloo.
According to one of the operators Mike Atieno, they claimed to have raised the issue with the county government who keep on promising them yet nothing has been done to address the issue.
“We also contribute to the development of the county. We should also be served by the government," said Atieno.
"We have suffered for a long time and we now want action, not a mere promise,” added Atieno.
