A section of tea farmers from Gesima has warned the local committee managing  the construction of  the proposed tea factory  for sidelining other farmers during their meetings.

According to them, the chairman of the committee has been sidelining  other farmers during the meetings without informing them about the events and the venue.

Speaking to this writer on Tuesday at Matunua area, farmers led by Philip Obiria accused the chairman, Zephania Ondicho, of sidelining other farmers from other areas.

“There have been some local meetings that have been held that have been chaired by Ondicho, and other farmers were not informed of the same," said Obiria.

They have appealed to the management of KTDA under the leadership of Nyansiongo tea factory to monitor such meetings lest the divide the farmers and locals at large. 

In addition, they accused the chairman for proposing for 'unbalanced' compensation, where farmers who have donated small pieces of land are seen to receive more compensation.
