Kiambu Roads and Transport Executive Njeri Gatabaki has said the ongoing construction of Level Four hospitals in Lari, Tigoni, Kikuyu and Kiambaa will be completed soon.
Speaking when she inspected the ongoing constructions on Tuesday, Gatabaki said they expect the construction to be complete before the end of the year.
She said that the government has committed a lot of money on infrastructure development including roads and hospitals.
“We expect the ongoing construction of Level Four hospitals to be complete and fully equipped before the end of the year,” she said.
The Roads CeC indicated that contractors working on the projects have been informed to expedite their work to ensure that the facilities are commissioned on time.
According to the County Health Executive Jonah Mwangi, the four hospitals once completed will have outpatient departments, theater and maternity facilities.
Speaking to journalists at the Kiambu headquarters last week, the Health CeC said the Tigoni Sub-County hospital will have a 200 bed capacity, a 190 bed capacity for the Lari hospital and 100 bed capacity for Kikuyu and Kiambaa Sub-County hospitals respectively.
Mr Mwangi said the construction will also reduce congestion on the Kiambu hospital and also improve service delivery.
The Kiambu government according to Governor Kabogo is committed to improve health services.
The governor says that provision of quality healthcare is one of the major priorities for his government.
Last month, Kabogo revealed that the county had partnered with Indian hospitals to provide specialised treatment to residents at lower costs.
