The last phase for the construction of the Nasha Market is already underway.
Biashara ward MCA Mr Stephen Kuria Muiruri said the completion of the second phase will see that market accommodate 2,000 hawkers.
“We designed the market to have a lower ground which can accommodate 1,000 people while the upper level will accommodate another 1,000 traders people,’’ explained Kuria.
Upon completion, the market will definitely become one of the biggest within the Rift Valley region.
"Nasha Market will fully accommodate the more than 1,000 hawkers who were relocated from the town centre by the county government and we will have room for more people who wishes to venture in the business," says Kuria.
Charles Munge one of the hawkers who was relocated from town center and already allocated a space on the ground floor revealed that the idea of Nasha Market wasn’t bad after all.
“During the relocation from town centre, I was totally against that idea my friends and I couldn’t imagine our customers coming down here. But it’s the opposite, here I get customers daily. Nasha has become a common name with very many people coming to buy or do window shopping,” said Munge.
