More than 600 families from Olposimoru in Narok County are still camping in Nakuru County following skirmishes that hit the area.
A spot check by this writer has revealed that the displaced families whose houses were torched during the three-day clashes that started last week are camping at Olenguruone DEB Secondary School.
The families have been surviving on the little food donated by Olenguruone locals but the Kenya Red Cross and the Nakuru County Government have since responded with food and non-food supplies to help ease their suffering.
Speaking on Tuesday at Olenguruone DEB Secondary where the 680 displaced families are camping, Nakuru deputy Governor Joseph Ruto denied reports that the clashes are between two communities from Nakuru and Narok counties.
Ruto was speaking after donating foodstuff, blankets and drugs to the affected families taking refuge at the school.
He at the same time cautioned the people, especially the youth from being used as agents of violence.
Interior Cabinet Secretary Joseph Nkaissery and IG Joseph Boinnet had earlier on led a high-powered delegation in an attempt to quell the violence.
