A man accused of killing and eating his neighbour in Subukia constituency, Nakuru County where he was working as a handyman has told a court that he no case to answer.
The accused, Amos Kimeria, has been in detention since June 2012.
The 38-year-old admitted to being in possession of human flesh but said the prosecution did not provide proof to justify he killed his neighbour Samuel Epolisi.
Kimeria is accused of killing his neighbour and slicing his body on 26th June 2012 and then consuming his heart, liver and some other parts before dumping the body.
It was stated by defense lawyers that none of Kimeria’s belonging was found at the crime scene or blood spots on any of his properties.
It was confirmed that there wasn’t clear information of who killed Epolisi.
The deceased's relatives depicted pictures of the scene where Epolisi’s body had been dumped.
His chest had been slit, intestines, liver, heart and some other body parts removed. Missing body parts of the deceased were later found in Kimeria’s house.
During the court hearing, it was affirmed that villagers went to Kimeria’s house and got human flesh including a liver and other parts put in a sufuria.
The next hearing is set to be on February 4, 2016, to determine whether he has a case or not.
