Nyamira County governor John Nyagarama has called for patience among residents and urged his critics to give him time to deliver his pledges.
Nyagarama who was speaking on Thursday at Bombo said a number of people were being misled by politicians to make negative conclusions about his government.
The county boss said much had been achieved since 2013 elections but admitted a number of challenges.
He urged residents to work with him to combat the challenges before the next general elections.
“A number of people have been intoxicated by my rivals to always view the negative side of my regime. It’s laughable that no one ever mentions the positives we have gained as a government. I understand that we undergo a number of challenges but that doesn’t render the county government function less,” he said.
He urged residents to shun politicians who were rallying against his government and make a judgment after five years ahead of elections.
“It’s really important that we don’t give time politician who are out to say all manner of negative things without giving us a solution because this is our county after all. After five years, then you will be able to make a judgment whether I deserve another term or not,” he added.
He said the county leadership had managed to use limited resources to improve road networks, equip health facilities among other projects that were for the benefit of the whole community.
