The base commander in Kangundo Sub-County David Okisai has warned Kangundo residence to be careful as they use the area roads which are becoming more and more slippery due to the ongoing heavy rains.

Speaking at a press conference outside his office in Kangundo town on Monday, Okisai said that road users should be more careful in order to prevent further deaths caused by slippers roads.

"We have so far witnessed several accidents on our roads due to heavy rains. One should always make sure that their vehicle is mechanically fit enough for the slippery roads before starting a journey," he said.

He mentioned several roads that the motorists should be extra careful when driving. These includes; Tala-Ndunyu Sabuk road, Tala-Miseleni road, Kangundo- Kenol road, Kangundo-Mwala and Kangundo-Kathiani roads. He confirmed that many of these roads are not tarmac lined.

The deputy commissioner in Matungulu Patrick Mwangi on the same day mentioned that those people living in sloppy areas in Matungulu Sub-County should ensure that their houses are strong enough to withstand the strong winds that are normally accompanying by heavy rains.
