Speaking at the Kikuyu branch office on Friday, Kenya Power Kikuyu regional chairman Daniel Omoya said the forum will be held on Sunday, November 15, at Give Hope Hall.

He said that the area has so far experienced 58 cases of accidents happening at homes and other places that have involved electricity.

The regional chairman also regretted that 11 people had also lost their lives as a result of failing to handle electricity safely.

"It is important for Kenya Power to come up with a mechanism to help residents in handling electricity to reduce accidents involving electricity especially during the rainy season where many incidents occur," he said.

He said that potentially dangerous cases such as cutting down trees near electric poles needed the guidance of Kenya Power to avoid accidents.

"We have set aside this session to help residents on safety measures to handle electricity because of the increased cases of accidents involving electricity," said Omoya.
