Trans Nzoia Governor Patrick Khaemba has lauded the automated system being used in Nakuru for revenue collection saying it was the surest way of taming loss of funds.

Speaking Monday when he led a delegation from his government's revenue collecting unit for a benchmarking mission in Nakuru, Khaemba promised to push for the adoption of the innovation during the next governors forum, further asking the Council of Governors to help members yet to follow suit to do the same.

He blamed the previous methods of collection to the corruption that had been rooted in the sector, but expressed confidence that such modern collection methods would eradicate the vice.

"We are here today because we want to partner with Nakuru in development. You have proved to be real pacesetters in the adoption of modern technologies which makes service delivery easier," the county boss said.

Khaemba's visit comes after Nakuru was voted the second best county in revenue mobilisation and collection.

After the adoption of the automatic system, annual revenue collection rose from Sh1.3 billion to Sh2.2 billion, figures authorities believe can rise if all measures are put in place.
