A section of Kibera elders have come out strongly to give advises to youths and young couples on how to deal with marital issues.
The group which comprises of four members says they believe their advice is useful to young men in the slums.
Derrick Kwea, who is the head of the group said men should be empowered on how to deal with marital quarrels because they are the heads of the family.
‘‘We have seen that most marriages in this century are not stable. There are so many cases of divorce and separation. If this generation is not well mentored who will mentor the coming generations?’’ questioned Edward Opiyo, a resident.
‘‘Marriage should be founded on true love. This stupidity of giving ladies money so that they can love you is what is killing marriages,’’ said Muskari Alwadzi, another resident.
Some young men have praised the team saying they give wise advises.Dennis Murunga said he has learnt a lot and now knows how to handle his wife if she starts a quarrel.
