A section of Kibera residents have argued that the allocation of sh2 billion to the office of Deputy President William Ruto is not necessary.
Patricia Mulwa said the DP has been seen giving out money in most of the harambees and that clearly shows his monied.
Andrew Mulei said the money can be allocated to other offices like the youth enterprise fund since youths need the cash more.
This comes after the minority leader, Jakoyo Midiwo questioned the need to allocate such a huge amount to the office of the deputy president saying he has not seen any projects the DP is running that might require such an amount.
Manson Nyamweya, an MP said this was unfair since Kenyans lack good roads and food. He said the money could be given to Kenyans. The DP’s office was allocated sh2.557 billion with sh2.384 billion for recurrent expenditure and sh173 million for development.
