A section of Kisii MPs have asked embattled Devolution CS Anne Waiguru to step a side and pave way for investigations after adversely being mentioned in a corruption allegations involving her ministry.

Nyaribari Chache MP Richard Tong'i and Kitutu Chache South legislator Richard Onyonka urged Waiguru to step down following pressure from all quarters.

"It does not mean she is guilty by stepping a side. Its only paving way for investigations to establish what is transpiring in her ministry. It is only fair if we have her out just like others. We have seen Charity Ngilu among others being suspended, why not her?” wondered Tong'i.

Onyonka said: "Waiguru must go. This is the only way we can believe that the Jubilee government is fighting graft. Yes I am one of the beneficiaries from her ministry but she must be responsible on whatever takes place in her docket.”

The Kitutu Chache South constituency is among the 66 constituencies in Kenya that benefited form National Youth Serve slots. The constituency got 1,350 slots.

Onyonka said the Jubilee government hosted a corruption cartel and therefore challenged president Uhuru Kenyatta to clean his by cracking the whip.

“The government, through President Uhuru Kenyatta, owes Kenyans a tangible explanation on how monies have lost from various dockets in his government. We want to know how more than Sh3.5 billion disappeared from the ministry of Internal Security, Sh8 billion lost from geothermal corporation and the Euro Pond is just another scandal."

The two were speaking on Thursday during signing of performance contracts among executive committee members at the county headquarters, an event that was presided over by Governor James Ongwae.
