Nyaribari Chache MP Richard Tong’i has asked residents to ignore leaders who are trying to influence them to register in their (leaders’) preferred stations.

Tong’i who was speaking while addressing a women group at Kiogoro Shopping center on Sunday evening.

He said that those who were transferring the voters from one station to another have ill intentions and want to benefit individually at the expense of residents.

He reminded residents that they should enjoy services from where they are living, and not from where they will vote.

“How can you go and vote in Kiogoro for example and you are a resident of Keumbu," said Tong'i.

" When goodies such as bursaries come, where will you access them from- Kiogoro or Keumbu, this is unacceptable,” he added.

The Legislator decried high, voter transfer in the county adding that this was corruption of the highest order.

IEBC has also raised concern over voter transfer, and has discouraged residents not to do so.

This comes barely after IEBC said that they have witnessed a massive transfer of voters in the ongoing voter registration.
