Machakos Town residents have urged the county government of Machakos to repair the road leading from Machakos University College to Eastleigh area.
Speaking on Tuesday, the residents, led by James Mutua, a former councilor, said that the road has been rendered impassable following heavy rains that are being experienced in the area.
"The roads within the town are supposed to be well maintained but this road is in bad state. We urge the county government under the department of roads to repair it and save us from the menace,” said Mutua.
He added, "We have a right to quality infrastructure because we always pay our taxes.”
The residents said they are now forced to use a longer route since the road was rendered impassable.
They gave the county government two days to address the issue, threatening to demonstrate if no action is taken.
