Police in Githunguri have launched a search for a bar owner who is said to have killed two people after they failed to pay a Sh170 bill for the beer they had taken.
According to police, the owner of the bar, a middle aged woman and a night guard murdered the two at a bar in Kiamaiko trading center on Sunday night.
Confirming the incident, Githunguri OCPD Ranson Lolmodon said police were in pursuit of the two suspects who are on the run.
The OCPD spoke at the scene of the crime on Tuesday.
Mr Lolmodon said the search for suspects has been intensified and will soon be apprehended.
He said the deceased were hit with blunt objects on the head and stomach.
“We have immediately launched a search for the two suspects, the bar owner and a night guard who are believed to have orchestrated the murder,” he said.
The OCPD said the bodies of the deceased were discovered behind the bar premises on Monday morning by residents who later alerted the police.
He also said the bikes of the deceased who are said to be bodaboda operators from Lioki village in the area were found dumped in a ditch nearby.
He said key witnesses have recorded statements with regard to the matter.
He asked people with information on the whereabouts of suspects to report to the police.
The incident saw angry residents demonstrate in Kiamaiko asking the police to apprehend the suspects.
