Some residents in Kibera have termed the recently concluded presidential elections in Uganda a total dictatorship.
The electoral commission in Uganda declared Yoweri Museveni on Saturday, last week the winner and president-elect in the election with a 63% vote as over his opposition leader, Kizza Besigye.
This has brought mixed reactions from some of the residents in Kibera terming it as a poorly conducted election.
Speaking at DC market area this morning, Desmond Ochieng, one of the area residents termed the election as a total dictatorship to the citizens of Uganda.
“It is a shame! Let the Ugandans look for a way to end his poor leadership and stop being slaves in their own country. I do not like his leadership at all. This is a clear sign that Besigye won but there is no justice at all,” said Ochieng.
According to Paul Kipsang’ a bodaboda operator in Kibera, the East African community should look into this matter and throw away poor leaders from power and free citizens who dearly pay revenue and taxes.
“How I wished the East African community would have a come together. I hope this kind of leadership will not be portrayed in the next Kenyan elections,’’ said Kipsang.
"It is very bad that a right person is elected but the winner declared not the one who was elected. It is very painful to Ugandan citizens at large”, said Evans Kirui, a businessman in Kibera.
