Reknown rapper Cannibal Shattah has joined the list of musicians in Kenya planning to vie for a political seat in the 2017 general elections.
A poster that has been doing rounds on social media seems to indicate the Mombasa based rapper's intentions to vie for the Kiembeni Ward MCA seat under the ODM flag.
The 'Kichwa Kibovu' hit maker has been re-tweeting messages stating that he will be vying for the seat.
The move has however elicited mixed reactions from Kiembeni residents.
"This is crazy. How will he be able to lead us. We are used to him being a musician. You can not mix the two," said Roselyn Achieng, a resident.
However, some of the residents supported the rapper arguing that he will make a good leader.
"I have been listening to Cannibal's music for a long time and he inspires me a lot. I believe he will make a good leader," said Marvin Karani.
The rapper has however not yet officially declared his intentions to vie for the seat.
