Matungulu MP Stephen Mutinda Mule has questioned the county government of Machakos why it was hesitating to help residents who have been affected by floods.
Speaking at a funeral in Tala town, the MP said that it was sad to see residents in the county languishing in floods without the county government intervening yet Sh300 million were set aside for emergencies brought about by El Nino rains.
"Many places are flooded and the residents have been rendered homeless, my question is where is the Sh300 million set aside for El Nino rains?" posed Mule.
He called upon the county government to make use of the money by helping people affected by floods across the county.
Mule also advised residents of Matungulu to avoid crossing swollen rivers to avoid drowning.
