Chama Cha Uzalendo (CCU) chairlady has asked the national government to account for the Sh140 Eurobond cash.

Speaking during a press conference at her office in Machakos on Tuesday, Wavinya Ndeti urged the government to explain to the public how the Eurobond cash was spent.

"If the money was used in the right way, then the government has nothing to hide and should clarify how the money was spent by making it public which projects were allocated the cash. The move will also enable the general public to trust the government,” said Ndeti.

This comes after Cord leader Raila Odinga, claimed the government can not account for the money.

However, Deputy President William Ruto dismissed the claims that the Eurobond cash was misused terming them as mere propaganda.

He said The National Treasury was willing to answer any questions regarding how the money was spent.

Ruto urged the opposition to present their complaints to the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC), instead of spreading propaganda.

Ndeti said the Eurobond debates will just bring doubts to the public concerning how the money was spent, adding that the government should simply account for everything if there is truly nothing to hide.
