Gatundu North bar owners who will allow under-age children in their pubs will have their licenses revoked and will be arrested for selling alcohol to persons under 18 years old.

Area Commissioner Daniel Nyamiti gave this warning from his Kamwangi office during an interview with this writer. 

Nyamiti who has been very effective in reducing crimes in the area called for stake holder’s partnership to keep youngsters busy to keep them from engaging in crime.

"I am requesting parents, leaders, police, the church, elders and the local administrators to work in harmony to ensure our youngsters are busy building this nation and not running away police," he said.

Nyamiti sounded a warning to the high school students who drop out from school for bodaboda businesses saying that the government has invested hugely in education and thus all children should finish school first and then venture into business.

"There is a developing routine by some of our youngsters in schools. They drop and take a bodaboda business. This is not helpful and will affect the enrolment of scholars in ten years to come," he said.

He posed a warning to parents in the area who buy their underage sons motorbikes to use in the business.

"I am sounding a warning to parents and persons employing high school students to work for them as bodaboda operators that they will be arrested and prosecuted for employing underage persons," he said.
