One person died on Monday after being hit by a speeding matatu along Moi's Bridge road in Uasin Gishu County .
Witnesses of the incident said the deceased, a woman, was hit by the vehicle as she crossed the road.
"The woman was crossing the road when a speeding matatu hit her and died on the the spot," Ann Chepkorir said.
Chepkorir said the area is a black spot and many people have been killed in the area.
Residents urged drivers to be careful when driving along the road to avoid the accidents being witnessed.
"We urge drivers to stay vigilant and observe road signs. So far we have lost four people at this area," Chepkorir said.
The body of the deceased was taken to Kitale District Hospital as police launched investigations into the accident.
