Nyamira motorists and bodaboda operators have been warned against reckless driving.
County Commissioner Josephine Onunga also warned traders against doing businesses along roads to avoid accident.
Ms Onunga however, said the government would expand town centres to avoid hawkers selling goods along roads.
Speaking on Tuesday in Nyamira town, Ms Onunga said: "Some of the accidents experienced in our county can be prevented if all of us exercised maximum caution ranging from motorists to bodaboda operators."
"We have agreed with the county government that we will jointly expand some of the market centres so that we can avert accidents in our county. Our target is to have zero deaths resulting from accidents."
Some of the markets the county commissioner said would be expanded include Miruka, Ikonge and Nyabite.
Ms Onunga's concerns come two months after a fatal accident took place at Chepilat in Borabu sub county when a lorry veered off the road killing 7 people with majority being hawkers.
Fifteen others were injured in the accident.
