Governor James Ongwae has said that the county government plans to connect over 400, 000 homes to piped water.

Addressing residents of Riana and Bonchari, Mr. Ongwae said that the completion of the water project will be co-funded by the county and German governments.

“We have finalised a mega project that will see over 400, 000 residents get connected to clean water. We all know that water is essential and I want us to cooperate so that the project is completed,” he said.

“We agreed that we will pipe the water to specific regions from where individuals would be requested to do piping on their own. However, as county governments and donors responsible, public institutions and places such as markets would be served adequately,” he said.

He urged residents to seize the opportunity and extend their farming activities to improve the economy of the region.
