Parents have been called upon to work together with teachers in an effort to have their pupils post good results in school.
Speaking during prize giving day Friday, Jacaranda Primary School head teacher Beatrice Kariuki said a good rapport between teachers and parents enabled 2015 KCPE candidates perform exemplary well.
Kariuki emphasized that parents should not abdicate their duties to teachers and should make follow ups on how their children are performing in school.
“We have achieved a lot in the past year and parents who had candidates last year in this school are part of our success because we worked together every single step of the way,” she said.
“Besides the fact that they had very tight schedules, they always found time for their children and were very inquisitive to know how studies are going on. They were also mentors and it taught us that education is about teamwork,” she stated.
Bahati MP Kimani Ngunjiri who was the chief guest during the ceremony lauded the school for its good leadership.
The MP said that the school’s administration went a step ahead to ensure that parents are involved in their children learning activities thereby posting good results.
He urged other schools to borrow a leaf from Jacaranda and implement policies where teachers and parents work together in a bid to better performance.
Jacaranda Primary had 21 candidates, with the last pupil clinching 302 marks out of a possible.
