Just a week after the Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC) released last year’s KCSE exams, the council is now under pressure to reveal what criteria it used to cancel the results of some of the candidates.

Parliament is set to probe the legality of the cancellation of the results which saw more than 5000 candidates get their results cancelled. Pressure has also mounted on the council to reveal who leaked the exams.

The Kenya National Union of Teachers (KNUT) chairman, Wilson Sossion also said the exam irregularities should be answered by KNEC since no teacher is held accountable of the leaked exams.

Parliament speaker, Justin Muturi said the parliament will investigate KNEC to know the truth about the cancellation. This comes after Kiminini MP, Chris Wamalwa presented a petition seeking Parliament to investigate the matter.

Last year’s exams were said to be the most leaked since the students were not well prepared due to the teacher’s strike which lasted for about a month during the third term.
