Road users in Nyamira County have been urged to observe speed limits and avert accidents this festive season.
Addressing the press, area police boss Rico Ngare said many motorists are speeding a move he said endangers people’s lives.
He said on Tuesday, three vehicles were involved in minor accidents on the Kisii-Nyamira road and Kebirigo-Nyamira road respectively area due to careless driving.
“Though there were no injuries, road users must observe traffic rules at all times and if this continues, we may lose more lives in the festive season,” said Rico
The police boss said road safety is wanting especially during festivities and it was imperative to avoid loss of lives through safe driving.
He, however, warned errant motorists that their days are numbered since traffic police officers are on the lookout.
Rico said also passengers have a right to caution reckless drivers to adhere to the recommended speed limits.
