The director of the NGO Dr. James Wanyadi explained that the water filter was economically friendly since it does not require electricity or any fuel to run.
"The equipment is able to filter water with the use of gravity and pressure to produce dirt and germ free drinking water thus protecting the children from diseases caused by drinking contaminated water such as cholera and typhoid," explained Mr. Wanyadi.
Speaking during the filters issuing event, honourable Susan Musyoka said that the equipments are a blessing to the children and therefore asked the school heads to ensure good maintenance so that they can serve effectively over a long period of time.
Madam Musyoka also added that there was a smaller size of the water filtering equipment for family use and that parents should make a step of acquiring them so that they can ensure that their children drink clean water at home too.
