The Kenya Power North Rift manager Daniel Tarno has warned the public to be wary of con men selling fake tokens inform of scratch cards to prepaid customers claiming they are from the company.
Speaking in his office on Wednesday, Tarno asked the public not to fall prey as the company does not offer such services.
"Kenya Power does not sell tokens inform of scratch cards but through M-Pesa or you can get them over the counter by visiting our offices," he said.
He said the public should be on the lookout for of such people since they risk losing their cash.
“The credit card tokens being sold are fake and they cannot be fed into the prepaid meters thus a loss to our esteemed customers," he said.
He urged wananchi to only buy the tokens using M-Pesa or visiting the company’s offices.
"I call upon the public to report such individuals to the police and also our offices for stern action to be taken against them," he said.
